Alicia Carmichael is an Australian artist and professional. Originally from Inverell, where she attended both primary and high school, her life and creative practice have since been shaped by a diverse professional career, international travel and a longstanding engagement with the arts. Creativity has remained a constant throughout her life. Working across pencil, pastel, paint and photography, Alicia has undertaken private commissions in Australia and internationally, created works for interior spaces, contributed to children’s book illustration, and participated in community, charitable and cultural arts projects. Her work with young people has included encouraging participation in art, cultural activities and creative exploration across a variety of mediums. Her contributions within the community sector have received awards and recognition. These varied experiences continue to inform her artistic perspective. Her work is guided by an appreciation for colour, composition and atmosphere, and by an interest in creating pieces that combine visual beauty with meaning. More recently, her creative interests have expanded into poetry and writing, creating another medium through which she explores memory, place and human experience.
