These compositions draw inspiration from the artist’s garden and wildlife corridor, where the boundary between nature and home softens through arrangements of flora brought indoors as still life. Australian birdlife peer in from the periphery blurring the line between viewer and subject as if deciding whether to remain observers or step fully into the picture. Charcoal,raw and earthy allows Kelly to draw directly from the natural world, its marks are gestural like fleeting shadows adding movement and depth. Layered acrylic gathers light in a way that builds a narrative revealing the quiet glow that lives within us all.
