This series was created as a reflection on simplicity. My intention was to evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth by using vibrant colours and focusing on the relationship of light to the different subjects. I wanted to imbue these paintings with a sense of life and movement which is why I chose to use an alla prima technique (an Italian term translating to at the first try) and create each piece in a singular session.
