A Friend's Gaze - Hunter Irwin

A3

PhotographThis photograph captures a magpie perched confidently on a weathered metal barbed-wire fence, its upright stance creating a strong and proud presence within the frame. Positioned centrally against an open, uncluttered sky, the bird becomes the clear focal point, while the simplicity of the background emphasises its distinctive form and character. The contrast between the dark tones of the magpie, the pale sky and the rigid lines of the fence creates a striking composition. The title, A Friend’s Gaze, reflects the quiet connection between the viewer and the bird, capturing a moment of stillness, awareness and companionship within the natural environment.
