My forebears arrived in the Inverell district on bullock drays in the 1860’s where they remained and prospered. Their stories passed down through the generations are embedded in my memory. Although it was not something I was taught growing up, I have come to realise later in life that my family’s good fortune came about as a result of the dispossession of Aboriginal People and for this I am deeply sorry. I pay my respect to the Traditional Owners of the land on which much of my work is created.
